The formation of neuron networks is a process fundamental importance for understanding the development nervous system and creating biomimetic devices tissue engineering neural repair. basic that controls network growth an axon from cell body its extension towards target neurons. Axonal directed by environmental stimuli include intercellular interactions, biochemical cues, mechanical geometrical properties substrate. Despite significant recent progress, steering growing remains poorly understood. In this paper, we develop model axonal motility, which incorporates substrate-geometry sensing. We combine experimental data with theoretical analysis to measure parameters describe on micropatterned surfaces: diffusion (cell motility) coefficients, speed angular distributions, cell-substrate interactions. Experiments performed neurons treated inhibitors microtubules (Taxol) actin filaments (Y-27632) indicate cytoskeletal dynamics play critical role in mechanism.
